Amanda Siebert

Journalist, FORBES

I am an author and freelance multimedia journalist focusing on culture, business, science, and health in the cannabis and psychedelics spaces. I am currently a contributing writer at Forbes and Leafly, as well as the co-founder and editor-in-chief at Inside the Jar. My first book, “The Little Book of Cannabis: How Marijuana Can Improve Your Life”, was published by Greystone Books in 2018 on the same day cannabis was legalized in Canada. In 2019, the Toronto Star bestseller was named the #1-selling non-fiction cannabis book in the country. In my second book, "Psyched: 7 Cutting-Edge Psychedelics Changing The World," I break down the history, science, and cultural and medical uses of seven different psychedelic drugs and plant medicines, contextualized with case studies and interviews with scientists, doctors, therapists, advocates, ethnobotanists, practitioners, and users. It will be in bookstores everywhere on October 18, 2022.

My byline has appeared in The New York Times, Vice, The Dales Report, Calgary Herald, The Georgia Straight (where I received national and regional awards for my work), and CannCentral, among others. I have been featured on CBC and Global News, a wide variety of national radio shows, and have spoken at several cannabis- and health-focused conferences. I've also hosted important conversations about psychedelics at events like SXSW in Austin, Texas, and the Wonderland conference in Miami, Florida.
